  • Write a letter to a philanthropist or a private foundation inviting them to investigate our program.
  • Be a volunteer.  We need volunteers to help send letters, gather textbooks, and organize applications.  There are numerous ways to volunteer with us.
  • Spread the word and educate others about Zambia's Scholarship Fund.
  • Organize a fundraiser such as a garage sale, get your local school to have a fundraiser.
  • Sponsor a high school or college student

Sponsor a high school student for only twenty dollars per month

You will receive a handwritten application from your student. It comes with a picture and questions that are filled out by him or her.  You will recieve a form that must be returned for our records indicating method of payment--monthly, quarterly, or yearly.  You are requested to send your student a picture of you or your family and a handwritten letter telling them a bit about yourself.  Correspondence is suggested as it encourages the students to stay in school and to excel to reach their goals.  It is a powerful influence in the life of a Zambian student to know that someone in America cares, especially because most of our sponsored students are orphans.  You can sponsor online or you can send a check directly to Zambia's Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 515, Brigham City, Utah 84302 or call for more information 435-734-2436.

Sponsor a college student for only thirty dollars per month

In Northern Zambia, where we offer college scholarships to disadvantaged students, only four percent of students can afford to attend college.  We offer scholarships at Kasama, Mansa, and Copperbelt Teachers' Colleges to students who have the dream of bettering their country by becoming a teacher.  You will recieve an application with a picture of your student and are encouraged to write to them regularly.  They are thrilled to have someone in America who cares. You can pay monthly, quarterly or yearly.  For the cost of going to dinner, you can change someone's life.  Sponsor a college student online by Visa or Mastercard or send directly to Zambia's Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 515, Brigham City, Utah 84302 or call 435-734-2436 to receive answers to any questions.

Adopt a school by providing that school with a full time teacher
(Pay the teacher's salary of one hundred dollars per month)

We are working with the school districts in northern Zambia.  Every January they send us pictures and a list of schools that are in need of teachers.  We do our best to find sponsors for these schools.  A sponsor is given a picture of the school, the address of the school, and the name of the teacher they will be sponsoring.  This teacher will now be paid $100 per month to teach in a needy school.  Thrilled, these teachers write letters to their sponsors informing them of the conditions at the school, how many children at the school, etc.  There are not enough funds for the Zambian Government to even come close to funding the education of the children of Zambia.  You can see pictures of all the schools we are presently helping on our mission statement page, but the need is great and many more schools need teachers.  Some schools have only volunteer teachers, and others who have a certified teacher may have 200 to 300 students and a single teacher.  If you don't think you could afford this individually, try getting your family, church, or club involved.  Sponsor online or at P.O. Box 515, Brigham City, Utah 84302 or call us at 435-734-2436.

Buy a book, cards or prints

For just $12 (all prices include postage), you can purchase Peggy’s book, Heart To Heart Worlds Apart or for $10 a set of 12 greeting cards (donated by Bart Seligar who lives in Hong Kong and runs a greeting card company).  Each card comes with an envelope and inspirational saying inside.  Also for $10, we have full size color prints of the two little girls on the front or back cover of the book.  These beautiful prints are signed by the artist, Krystyn Stanley.  Click above to order online or order with check directly to Zambia's Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 515, Brigham City, Utah 84302.

Have a Fundraiser

This was one of the first flyers we made to get people excited about helping.  If you need something similar, we would be happy to help.  Many schools have helped and made a big difference.  Rocky Mountain Junior High in Weber School District held a fundraiser and collected over $4,000 to support Zambian students.  Peggy Rogers arranged for many of them to have a pen pal in Africa.

(See how other schools have helped under our 'News and Events' menu.)

If you are a teacher wanting to focus on Africa, Zambia, what causes extreme poverty, or a number of interesting topics to enlighten your students to the problems faced in under developed countries, just email us, and we will send you a free teacher's kit.  It is written to help elementary teachers or secondary level teachers approach these tender subjects in a professional and enjoyable way.
